Warming skies melt the remainder of New Years snow.
A muddy mess.
But still I am thankful.
Here’s my list:
15. For the warmth of the sun on my back as I take the dogs out. In January.
I can’t complain.
It’s 54 degrees f/12 c.
Normally we could see below freezing temps,
So this almost feels like spring.
A bee actually buzzed by my head today!
It was nice, while putting the outdoor Christmas decoration in the bin and my feet only sludged through mud a few times.
Beautiful and makes it less depressing to know the holidays are over when
It just feels as if spring is in the air.
16. It feels great to have our house in order after boxing up all the Christmas decor.
I always dread the take down.
You know all those ornaments that were so much fun putting up.
I took my time reminiscing,
But uh to put them away-
Not quite the same.
It took me half of the day to get everything back to storage and then
The clean up.
Now we have our cozy home back.
Settling in with a good read sounds great about now.
There is just a refreshing atmosphere with the simplicity of “us” sans red, white and green.
Though I will miss the ambience of sparkling white lights all a glow.
Until next Christmas….
17. Finally today I am thankful for recipes that make you feel like a cook.
A roasted chicken with carrots and potatoes with crescents.
What feels more splendid than looking at this beautiful chicken,
With the knowledge that you have followed a recipe and it actually looks delightful?!
Now we haven’t tried it yet,
But…I am hopeful.
Not every recipe turns out well.
Still I am thankful in this moment.
It is a beautiful looking bird.
